Building Projects

A major achievement of the Fund during the past 20 years was to finance school building projects. Each building project was carefully screened, and closely monitored to ensure that the project would be completed according to the building contract. Donors were informed periodically of the construction progress and invited to attend the Opening Ceremony.

Since its establishment, the Fund had completed 556 building projects in 19 provinces and cities, namely    Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Henan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Shandong, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Qinghai, Xinjiang. The total donation involved was RMB156 million. Building items included teaching blocks, multi-purpose complex, dormitories, canteens, playground, and the installation of new teaching facilities.

Education is a life-long process. It is particularly important in providing hope and a better future for children in the under-privileged mountainous regions. To provide a safe and comfortable school environment will benefit thousands of students and teachers in the many years to come.
