Mrs. Rosalia Wan-ling Chan graduated in Hong Kong University in 1964 with a B.A. (Hons.) Degree, and obtained the Diploma of Education in 1972. After graduation, Mrs. Chan took up a teaching post in a secondary school, and she became the founding principal of Hong Kong St. Margaret’s Girls College in 1966 until 1972. After that, Mrs. Chan joined the Civil Service Training Centre of the Hong Kong government for 21 years until she retired in 1993 as the Chief Training Officer.

From 2004 onward, Mrs. Chan devoted her time to charity work and served in the China Candlelight Educational Fund as Hon. Secretary and personal assistant to her husband, Founding Chairman Chan Cheong Lap. In 2019, after the passing away of Mr. C.L. Chan, Mrs. Chan was appointed Director, and took charge of the winding up of the Fund.
